40 Years of Souveran Anniversary Fountain Pen
At the end of 2022 Pelikan released an anniversary fountain pen to honour 40 years of the Souveran. The Souveran M800 40 year Anniversary fountain pen is a tribute to the first pen launched under the Souveran brand in 1982.
This pen was the M400, with its green and black 'Stresemann' striped barrel. The M400 played a big part in Pelikan's history. It has been hailed at helping to turn around the fortunes of the company when they were in financial troubles in the early 80s.
The Vicar of Baghdad and his Pelikan
The Reverend, Canon, Dr Andrew White has, over the years, been a pivotal figure in the fight for peace and religious tolerance in the Middle East. Having spent his early career practising anaesthetics, he moved into Theology in the 1990s and was appointed a canon of Coventry Cathedral in 1998.
It was in subsequent years Canon White utilised his pastoral acumen in the promotion of reconciliation in (mainly) religious conflicts across the globe. His work drew him towards the Middle East, namely Iraq, and he had soon earned the moniker, ‘The Vicar of Baghdad.’

Start of Niche selling Pelikan Pens
Niche Pens have been selling Pelikan fountain pens and inks for over a decade. We discovered Pelikan by accident when looking for another make of pen, which is the market leader in the expensive pen domain. As a fountain pen user throughout school, when GCSEs had been finished and results were in, a pen was sought as a congratulations gift. We bought a used said Pelikan competitor from an auction website and when it arrived in the post after a couple of days, it was not as good as was expected for its value.
Fountain Pen Cartridge & Converter Fitting Guide
The table below has been created by us to demonstrate to our customers which brands have cartridges and converters that are interchangable between them. I.e. a Pelikan International Standard will also fit a pen the same way an International Standard Diamine would.
However, all the brands where the cartridges and converters are Manufacturer's Specific - They will ONLY fit their own brand pens. For example, you would not be able to fit a Lamy cartridge in a Sheaffer pen.
